The short version

PetLicenseCheck uses the location and pet details you provide to complete the current lookup. The application does not create an account, saved-search history, pet profile, advertising profile, document store, or payment record. Location and planner details remain in the current page flow and disappear if you reload or leave it.

What we do not ask for

Do not enter an owner name, pet name, exact birth date, phone number, email address, certificate number, microchip number, disability information, payment detail, or uploaded document. Those belong only on the official application site when required.

How city and ZIP lookup works

City suggestions are matched on this site from the locations we cover; city text is not sent to Google. If you submit a complete five-digit ZIP code, that ZIP is sent to Google Places so it can identify the postal area. A ZIP can tell us where to continue, but it is never treated as proof that you live inside a city or service boundary.

PetLicenseCheck uses the returned place details only during the current page flow. It does not put the ZIP or selected place in the results-page URL or save it in a profile, analytics event, or application database.

If we ask for a street address

Address suggestions are provided using Google Places. As you type in that step, the address text is sent through the PetLicenseCheck address API to Google so Google can return suggestions. If you select one, its Google place ID is sent to Google for the formatted address, address components, and coordinates needed by this lookup.

After you choose an address, the latitude and longitude—not the street address, Google place ID, or anything you typed—may be sent to the U.S. Census Geocoder to check the incorporated place and county at that point. The Census response is used in the current page flow and is not written to an application database.

Google processes these location requests under the Google Privacy Policy. Your use of Google's address features is also subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service.

The temporary address-session cookie

When you start ZIP or street-address suggestions, the address API sets a randomly generated temporary cookie. It contains no address or pet details. The cookie is limited to the address API, is unavailable to page scripts (HttpOnly), uses SameSite=Strict, and is marked Secure on HTTPS. It expires after about three minutes and is used only to keep the short Google suggestion session tied to the same browser request flow.

During that short session, the server keeps an opaque fingerprint, request counters, timing information, and the Google place IDs it offered. It does not keep the text you typed or the selected address in that session record. Session state is removed after a selection, abandonment, terminal error, or timeout; the cookie itself may remain until its brief expiration time.

Hosting and ordinary request logs

PetLicenseCheck is delivered through a hosting provider. As with most websites, the provider may process request metadata needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, time, requested path, browser or user-agent information, and response status. The address API uses a generic path and does not place the address in the URL.

PetLicenseCheck does not save address request text or pet-detail answers in an analytics service or application database. We do not state a fixed retention period for infrastructure security or access logs because that period can vary with the hosting provider's systems and operational settings.

Aggregated page analytics and performance

PetLicenseCheck uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate page visits and referrers. Vercel Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies or create a visitor profile across different days or websites. Its reports may include the requested page, referrer, approximate region, browser, operating system, and device category.

PetLicenseCheck does not send the city, ZIP, street address, selected place, pet details, or address-session cookie to Vercel as custom analytics events. Those values are also kept out of the page URL, so ordinary page-view reporting does not contain them.

Google Analytics 4 records page and session activity used to understand site usage and search acquisition. Google signals and advertising-personalization signals are disabled. PetLicenseCheck does not send city, ZIP, street address, selected place, pet details, or the address-session cookie as Google Analytics events or URL parameters.

Vercel Speed Insights records aggregated performance measurements such as loading, responsiveness, and layout stability. It does not receive the lookup inputs listed above as custom metrics.

Optional pet-detail tools

If a page offers a pet-detail form, answers such as species, age, and vaccination status stay in the current page's browser memory. They are not sent to an application database or added to the shareable page URL. Any printout is created through your browser, and any calendar file is generated as a download on your device.

When you open an official site

A government or government-designated application site has its own privacy practices. Review them before entering personal information, uploading a document, or paying.

Sharing a result

A copied link points only to the public local-office page. It does not include the location, street address, or pet details you entered.
